The Peeling Dinosaur Feb 25, 2010 My kids love these bottles. Why? Becasue of the vibrant color designs and interesting themes (dinosaurs, planets; jungle animals, trucks, etc.)
As a mom, I love them for the same reason, but also because the core of the bottle is made of stainless steel, a much more durable and safer alternative to plastic. They also keep cold beverages insulated better than plastic. They are also just the right size to fit into a convetional lunchbox.
BUT, I have complaints.
1) The exterior design, made of some type of laminate, peels off the bottle after just a short amount of routine wear and hand washing. I have the bottles for just about a month now, and they are all peeling in the same spot: bottom seam.
2) Not dishwasher safe. Need I say more.
3) The drinking spout is loose and if not shut all the way, it will leak. So I place the bottles in a ziploc freezer bag before packing them in a lunchbox.
4) The metal will react to certain acidic drinks... like apple juice. After about 10 hours in the bottle, the juice had a vinegary taste.
For ten bucks, this should be a better product. But looks alone, it would win a beauty contest.
Dino Water Bottle Feb 11, 2010 My son loves dinosaurs and has used this water bottle every day so far this school year. The quality is good - the paint is finally showing a few scratches after being washed in the dishwasher A LOT - and I'm surprised it has held up this well. It's a little expensive, but I can't complain about the price because the quality is so good. I've seen some water bottles that cost less (and some that cost more) - but I haven't bought them because this one has held up so well.
Great Water Bottle Oct 12, 2009 We put juice in it for school lunches. My 4 year old loves it. Goes nicely with the dinosaur lunch box and backpack. Great product line.
great Oct 04, 2009 kids love them and can work the bottles without adult help however they strach up easily.
Too fragile Aug 21, 2009 My daughter loved drinking from this bottle, but only a few days after we purchased it, she dropped it and the top part broke. It could be made better.
