My 2-year-old daughter really resisted moving to a booster seat. She didn't want to give up her high chair throne. This placemat made all the difference. She eagerly sits at the table with us with her truck placemat and directs us to put things in certain places ("peas on the concrete mixer!") As other reviewers have noted the colors aren't that durable -- don't use a serious scrub brush on them -- but that's the only drawback I see. Great way to engage your child at the table.

I worried about purchasing this and other Crocodile Creek placements after reading some negative reviews about their quality, but I'm very pleased with my purchase. (I currently have two of them). Yes, they are rather thin and somewhat slippery if pushed around a bit, but I don't find those characteristics to be a problem. When we have a plate on the mat, the mat stays put. As for white, scratching marks, we don't have any after at least a couple of months of daily use. I just use a soft sponge to wipe them clean, and everything comes off very easily.
My son is 26 months old and loves nearly all moving vehicles, particularly trucks. He loves to point to all of the items on this mat and either say their name and/or imitate their sound. I've also found that these mats work very nicely when flipped over as a staging ground for Play-Doh activity.
One small complaint I have is with the brown dot on the top of the mixing component of the cement truck (you can see it in the picture if you look closely). I'm no truck expert, so maybe this circle is supposed to be there, but I don't see it on any of the many cement trucks in my city. It looks like a manufacturing mistake. It annoys me because it makes the mat looks like it's dirty in a spot when it's not.

The plastic is thin, flimsy and slides around on the table. Easy to get folds stuck in it. Picture scratches off very easily. Regret purchase.

"New mom"
My 3 year old son is obsessed with vehicles, and this placemat is perfect. He requests it every night before dinner and know every vehicle on it. He doesn't mind having a different placemat than my husband and I anymore.

This mat is very cute and has all the pictures my son enjoys but did not wear well. It was covered in white scratches within a few weeks. Also it is very slippery and would often slide off the table, plate, fork and all!
