Not what I expected... Dec 15, 2008
By Sara M I bought this chair for my second child because I thought it would be nice to have a high chair that matched our cherry wood table. And yes, it matched perfectly BUT....
1.) The finish has chipped in a ton of places. It is really thin with no kind of clear coat (How 'bout some shellac over here?!) to protect it.
2.) It is an absolut PAIN to clean! Food gets in between the slats on the side and I have to use a toothbrush to get it out. On top of that, if you don't clean up any food before it dries it is next to impossible to get off. Food seems to stick to this chair like super glue. I think it's because of whatever kind of finish (or should I say lack of..) they put on it.
3.) The plastic piece that sticks down between the baby's legs is attached to a larger plastic piece that goes across the front of the chair and sits under the tray. This whole piece is held on by multiple screws so it is not removable. Obviously, this makes it very hard to clean the seat out.
4.) The fabric seat cover isn't coated in any kind of vinyl so once gets something on it it has to be washed because you can't just wipe it clean.
Also, the cover is tied on with these thick fabris strips that are hard to tie on well and once you do get them on well, they're hard to get untied.
5.) Another issue with the seat cover is that it doesn't cover the entire back of the chair. My baby has hit his head on the hard edge of the seat back while I was putting him in his chair and just from throwing his head back while seated.
5.) The chair does not have a five point harness. Only a belt that goes across the lap. The belt is held on by screws and so is not removable for when it gets dirty (and it WILL get dirty!)
Overall, I am just really dissapointed with this high chair and would not reccomend it. The concept of a nice, hardwood highchair was good, but the execution was HORRIBLE!
I'm just glad I saved the simple plastic Evenflo chair that I had for my first child so I don't have to keep using this thing!

Awesome Aug 04, 2008
By Nanny Lulu This chair is nice looking, fairly small (doesn't take up a ton of space), and most importantly...easy to clean!
I nanny triplets, so I don't have time to scrub shoulder straps with a toothbrush... this chair is so easy to use and clean up when we're done. It doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles, but honestly, who really wants all that stuff? When it comes right down to it, you want something practical and low maintenance.. so we bought more than one... I'd recommend it!

Piece of junk Dec 27, 2008
By R. Cunningham This high chair may be pretty, but it is a wobbly piece of junk. When we purchased it, there were huge cracks in the wood and parts missing. I would never put a baby 3 feet off the ground in this thing. I am a mom who is normally against craptastic plastic and liked the idea of this high chair's aesthetic, but I can recognize a polished turd when I see one.
A complete PAIN! Oct 20, 2009
While this product serves it's purpose as a high chair, it's an overall pain in the rear!! We chose this one rather than a big, colorful plastic one so that it would blend in and match our kitchen a little better (since it would be sitting out all the time). I'm completely regretting that decision.
1. It came quite banged up. The wood was scraped in a few spots and the stain looked like it was rubbed off on some of the edges so the wood doesn't even look as nice as I thought it would.
2. In the early stages, our son go pureed food all over the pad and I couldn't find any washing instructions on it. I washed it anyway and laid it out to dry. Therefore, we have to do about two meals without the pad whenever it needs to be washed. It would be so much better to have one that we can just wipe clean.
3. The pad does not come up high enough and my son constantly bangs his head on the back of the chair.
4. It shows a TON of dust because of the dark wood color.
5. This is the biggest one - it's a HUGE pain to clean it. Food gets stuck everywhere and doesn't really come off. Every time I'm trying to clean it I just curse myself for picking this chair!
I am very disappointed in this product and would go out an buy another high chair in a minute except that we spent so much money on this one! Choose one of the plastic, easy to clean high chairs and deal with the eye soar. I wish I would have realized that I would have preferred that to the annoyance of this chair.

I don't have this exact chair model, but I do have the Eddie Bauer all wood high chair. This chair was bought because it was charming, firt child and didn't know better. If your going to actually use the high chair don't get this one. It is impossible to clean, stuff gets all around the wood bars on the side. The pad washes okay, but it is hard to wipe it off. I would have been better off with a chair that wasn't as cute but was all one piece. Real old fashion high chairs clean TONS better than these. DON'T WASTE THE EXTRA MONEY TO GET THIS!
