Finger Paint Set Feb 07, 2010 Great product and my 4-year-old granddaughter loves it. I like the packaging, because the base that holds the individual cups in the package is durable enough to hold the paints while they are in use to help avoid accidental spills. I downgraded durablity, because after one or two sessions, with a week between sessions, the paint pigment starts to separate from the solvent and needs to be mixed....very messy business for both a 4-year-old and a 60-year-old. I'm sure a young parent could manage the task easily. It has washed off of every surface she blessed with it, even when left unnoticed for a week.
My kids and I like them! Nov 19, 2009 My 4 year old and 2.5 year old like these fingerpaints. They weren't chunky at all, and they stayed the same texture the entire time we had them. We simply replaced the lids after using them.
The colors are pretty and vivid, and the pots are the right size. It's true the colors don't blend well, but that wasn't a very important factor for us. My kids like to smear the paint all around, rather than experiment making new colors based on these 4 primary colors.
These are also highly washable, a big plus. Paint has been on the floor, table, hands, arms, face, shirt, pants -- you name it!! It's washed off every time, no problem.
I just ordered another set, as we used the previous one.
Ok product.... Nov 16, 2009 Pro: Washable
Con: Clumpy gel; dull colors
I always made sure I closed the lid tightly. Once left a couple of months untouched, the consistency of the paints changed from the gel into sludgy water. I had to throw them away. Saying that, my son sure did enjoy painting with them! Maybe I just expected a bit more for the price.

Like fingerpainting with warm Jello Aug 31, 2009 Generally I like and trust Melissa and Doug toys but I was dumbfounded by this fingerpaint set. It is utterly useless. To make the material washable (I imagine) the texture is akin to warm Jello. There is no vibrancy to the colors; they are translucent when applied to paper. And the paint dries on the finger before a little one can complete the simplest picture. My advice: Don't frustrate your child with this product. Wait until s/he is ready for real fingerpaint.

icky sticky...clumpy Mar 14, 2009 This is more like Elmer's glue. The paint is really chunky and stringy. The colors don't blend well. I will not buy again, and would not recommend.
This is one of the worst Melissa and Doug products ever.
