 Ok, dress up dolls Aug 24, 2010
My 2.5 year old daughter enjoys this set, but the dress up clothes are not very durable. They are already starting to peel away from the magnets. Also, in my daughters case she bit into some of them and pulled them apart. So, not great for younger kids. Lastly, it would be great if there was a cover for the box.

My child likes the dolls. However, I wish the box did have a lid. I have to store them in a tupperware box to prevent getting them all lost.

My daughter received this as a gift for her third birthday, and it has provided hours of fun. Since the set has tiny magnetic shoes, it's a treat for her to play with during her little brother's naptimes. (Otherwise, he tries to chew on the little pieces.)
Pros:
Variety of outfit combinations
Nice compartments in the box to divide pieces into sections
Loved, adored, and cherished by my daughter!
Cons:
No lid
Little pieces, which means you need to be careful with pets and younger siblings
One outfit includes a top that leaves the midriff uncovered, which is less modest than I would prefer for my young daughter (but the rest are fine, so I just threw that piece in the trash)

This is a really fun toy, but when I opened the box the strong chemical smell really threw me off. I thought it would be for just a few seconds, but it lasted and after a while I started to get concerned that it was unsafe for my children. I removed it from them but I ended up sitting next to it for a bit longer myself (not by intention, just happen to be), and I got a headache and almost threw up. I decided to put this toy outside for the smell to disseminate. Eventually I felt it did go away, but I regret not having done that right away -- my children and I all ended up inhaling the smell when it was the strongest. Even if the smell seems to go away with time, it still makes you wonder what could have been the source of that smell -- it just can't be anything good.

My 3 year old granddaughter loves this set! she spents lots of time with the wide variety of magnetic clothes choosing what outfits for the dolls to wear. They are durable and perfect for this age. The clothes are a bit slippery if she starts to carry them around with her and fall off. But this has been a good lesson on the importance of being able to sit and play nicely for the clothes to stay on well. Since it comes with two dolls it is great for her to play with a friend.
