Cute but hard for little one to get bugs in and out May 17, 2010 My son got this for christmas this past year. He loves to play with the bugs, and they are very adorable. Each bug makes a different noise as the child plays with it....one has a rattle inside, another has a squeeker, and one has a crackley sounding plastic inside. But, it really isnt a spilling toy. The mouth of the "jar" is too small and the bugs have to be crammed down into it, and definately won't spill out when it is turned upside down.
She loves it Feb 01, 2010 At 6 months my granddaughter loved this toy-- the sounds and appendages. At 8 months she can fill and unfill the container and chew and chew! Good pick.
My son loves it! Jan 30, 2010 My son was about 4 mos old when we received this as a gift. I was turned off by it because it's bugs. Ew. But they're cute, and in the end, he loves it. He's especially fascinated by the spider which he can grasp easily. More importantly, he can put the little legs towards the back gums where his teeth are coming in. (Few teething toys seem to have that reach, and he immediately took to the spider because it's something soft and comforting that he can suck and chew on.) Same with the cricket legs. He's not as keen on the other two thus far, and at his age, the container is more for storage by his parents than him as a baby... but knowing what I know about how great the spider and cricket are, i gave this five stars. Two mos later, he's still very excited when we give him these toys, and I'm glad that we have something to make him happy and soothe his teething discomfort.
Love These Bugs! Jan 24, 2010 I bought this for my 11-month-old daughter who is very interested in "unpacking" things right now. She adores it. It can be a bit of a challenge to get the bugs out of the smallish opening, but that just teaches her problem-solving skills. She loves that each of the bugs has a different sound element to it. The toy seems very durable and I can see it being fun for different types of pretend play as she gets older. I'm so glad we found this!
Cute! Jan 18, 2010 I bought these for my nephew for Christmas. I think they are really cute. The bugs come in their plastic jug. The lid of the jug is made of a mesh material so the bugs can "breathe" which I found adorable. The bugs make fun sounds. A couple of the bugs have a crinkly sound and one of them has bells inside of it. They are soft and seem really well made. My nephew will probably outgrow them before they ever fall apart.
