I can put together a full scale rc airplane model faster than I put this together. Only 10 and up could have the drive and strength to put this together. The screws strip easily, the drill holes are ridiculously tiny. Using a hand held screwdriver, you will be heaving your body weight into getting the screws in. If you have an electric drill, you could put it together much faster, but then where is the joy from the kid having his or her building experience? This product is a great idea but very poorly delivered. I love Melissa and Doug products, but I am so disappointed they would actually sell a product this annoying. Did they not test their own product? What a sham. Once it is built, it is nice looking enough, but you will only be happy to be done with it.

This product was very difficult to put together even for a grown up. It should be rated as 10 and up. It turned out ok, but my son couldn't really do much in terms of helping to put it together.
