 Adorable, but not practical Aug 20, 2010

I thought that this would be a great summertime water bottle for my 2 1/2 yr. old. Knowing Melissa and Doug products and having been a fan, I expected cuteness with quality. While the novelty of the water bottle and it's looks are fun, I was disappointed from its first use. It leaked instantly and I was constantly checking to see if I had the top screwed on wrong, as it comes with an outer, insulated sleeve (the dots). No matter how tight I had it, I found that it was the condensation from the liquid dripping out the hole in the bottom of the outer sleeve. So when we traveled, I had to have a napkin/wipe on the bottom of it in the car, etc. Although we washed it frequently and kept it dry, the bottom of the outer, insulated shell molded!!! So now the "sleeve" has black spots on it that cannot be washed off. The top of the cup where the ladybugs eyes are are also two, hollow plastic circles that never drain the water properly after washing. This product was a HUGE disappointment and I wouldn't advise anyone of purchasing it and/or putting a cold beverage in it if they do.

I ordered this for my 2 year old's ladybug themed birthday party. It just seemed poor quality for it being a Melissa & Doug product. It was much larger then anticipated, but the cup inside was somewhat small. The top (head) did not meet up correctly with the body and therefore I returned it.

This is a cute ladybug and my daughter loves it, but i noticed that it leaks a little. we only use it for water and it does keep the water cold, just don't tip it over.
